Dear qgis users,
I am trying to use the dissolve function of the ftools to merge 3 polygons
of a shapefile but qgis get stuck on the 66% of the status bar.
Any idea why I cannot dissolve the shapefile?

I was rying to save the file in a specific UTM system for Costa Rica
(CRTM05) but I left save to the original CRS and it works.

You can also use menu Raster - Rasterize, unfortunately you first
need an empty raster to burn the polygons. It calls a GDAL utility
program:

From GDAL 1.8 it will create raster files from scratch.

I need to define a new SRC, it will be CRTM05 (for Costa Rica
What I have is this information (parameters):
+proj=tmerc + lon_0=-84 + lat_0=0 + k=0. +datum=WGS84
I tried but I cannot het the new projection.
Do I need other information?

You can use the properties for raster and vectors (double click on the
layer name, in the TOC).
