I use a Iomega USB floppy drive together with my Laptop and QPC2. Works
perfectly. Installs itself as drive A: in Windows, QPC accepts this as
flp1_. There is absolutely no difference to a legacy a: drive.

May not be the problem, consider that some drives put more power into a
write, and some are more sensitive in a read.
Yes, I know. In old QL-days I had a twin drive, which sometimes gave
unpredictable results on some disks. Later on the Atari, the drives a a bit
better. But
