It is rare to come across this. Do you have expanded memory on your QL and/or a disk drive? If you are loading it from microdrive cartridge, then ensure that anything else which uses the QL memory is disabled (such as Toolkit II and other toolkits). Disk interfaces also use some of the QL

OK - how are you launching QL Archive? The standard version grabs all of the QL memory, unless you use QPAC II's grabber which sets the maximum memory available to the programs. You may be better with Xchange - that has a QL configuration block (from memory) to set the maximum space available,
