The Q40 SMSQ/E does not say that anthing other than WIN1_ can be used with the WIN_FORMAT command. But if you enter WIN_FORMAT 1 and try FORMAT WIN2_, you get a Access Denied error message. So the correct syntx for WIN_FORMAT is WINFORMAT win_drive This assumes that the WNx_ device has been

Now, after I formatted parition 1 I was able to reboot from linux to SMSQ/E and copy some files from flp1_ to win1_. Now I did a reboot to verify that the boot file will run and suddenly I can't see win1_. I set win_drive 1,0,0 and nothing. I set win_drive to 2,0,1 and I see the second

SNIP w you are saying WIN_FORMAT X will format drive X. So to format the Syquest I would have to do the following: WIN_DRIVE 3,1 (Set win3_ to the slave drive on the primary bus) WIN_FORMAT 3 (to format the drive) I just tried that (with SMSQ/E 2.91 in ROM) and it did not work.
