With the newer version I have here (length : 38132 bytes for the english version) this works as expected, with ancient versions the error described above arises. Please upgrade. What if you only boot with 3 things: qpac2, qlib_runtime (if not
linked in) and then try to start the _obj?

I had the same problem - downloaded v1.45 of QPAC2 from Jochen and it now
works - looks as though there might be more than one version of QPAC2
v1.45.
The only thing is, is that when I updated QPAC2 using Update in
MenuConfig, the settings for the mouse wake up speed etc (the whole Sysdef
menu settings) were corrupt - they were all set to CHR$(0).
Odd.

Apart from that, all qpac2 releases solely originate from me, so Per definitely got the right one.
