However, try the same from Qpac2 and the only thing that gets printed is the version number. Please confirm. Ive tried it with Qpac2 V1.45 a and b (dont know what the official sub-version numbers are), with the same result. Everything appeared to be working as expected in the setup I had with SMSQ/E V 3.12 (but so much has changed since then that it is almost impossible to revert to check!) I have tried this too and can confirm it on my copy of QPC2. You can EX the BASIC version without problems, but not the compiled version from within QPAC2 - wonder why?? -- Rich Mellor RWAP Services URL:http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk URL:http://www.rwapadventures.com URL:http://www.rwapservices.co.uk URL:http://www.internetbusinessangels.com ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Hi Per, Could you send me a working version of the Qpac2 file please? You already have it, that is what I sent you in my earlier email (not any ROM...) All the best Wolfgang Wolfgang www.scp-paulet-lenerz.com ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Just to make sure I saved and re-installed the one you emailed me and tested the program described in my initial mail, ie 10 REMark Test for HOME_DIR$ 20 : 30 PAUSE 5: PRINT#0; HOME_DIR$, HOME_FILE$, HOME_VER$ 40 PAUSE What works and what doesnt: EX test_bas and test_obj both work as expected Executed via Qpac2 Files test_bas is fine but not test_obj My FileInfo2 and other stuff has not changed recently. Otherwise I cannot even begin to imagine why it shouldn't work for you. I checked different scenarios myself with the files I send you and I even re-checked the code, there shouldn't be any timing issue or anything like that. Now what can I try? Perhaps one more thing. While the test program is still running enter print home_file$(jobid('jobname')) and see what you get. Other than that, I have not the slightest clue what's going on. OK just to add my two-penneth worth (if only Multidiscover and the CD-ROM were as easy to fix) I had the same problem - downloaded v1.45 of QPAC2 from Jochen and it now works - looks as though there might be more than one version of QPAC2 v1.45. The only thing is, is that when I updated QPAC2 using Update in MenuConfig, the settings for the mouse wake up speed etc (the whole Sysdef menu settings) were corrupt - they were all set to CHR$(0). Actually there were 2 versions of v1.45. But as home-support was part of v1.44 both should work equally well in regards to the home thing. Apart from that, all qpac2 releases solely originate from me, so Per definitely got the right one.
