Hi - my experience is that you can change units while they are running. But, it's always been necessary to have the switch set to the machine which is booting up, so that it'll detect the monitor. After any and all of them are up and running, you ought to be able to change units at will. - Dick

Seems like the best thing would be to hit ebay. A quick search (url below) came up with a bunch of aaui tranceivers with prices ranging from 3 to 12 dollars. The aaui tranceiver has a regular 10 base T jack on the other end of it. - Dick
