Heather, welcome to this esteemed group and especially to the super classy
RivSisters! You've got a beautiful bike and I'm really happy for you. I'm
going to look forward to your reports of trail riding and how it handles.
Please tell us which tires you've shorn her with. Also, I hope
out these purchases. It is good to

It's cool, it's you! What a colorful bike, fun secret project and exciting
reveal; no doubt you'll have many happy miles hauling your groceries and
other stuff when the Michigan weather cooperates which could be any day you
aren't snowmobiling! Congratulations, Leah. I'm really happy for
Your photos are beautiful, John. The light and composition of the first
one with the trees bending over your bike should be on a magazine cover.
Brilliant.

It looks like all Platy owners need to get a pair of mittens (or at least
1/2 of a pair) so we are properly outfitted for the secret Platy Salute.
I'm going to get right on it! Must they be plaid? Love the salute
idea...it's so unique and sly; others won't know what the heck we're doing.
Leah, you are a star! Thanks for asking Grant about the seat post. I'm
in! I'd gladly pre-order and pitch in some money as well. It's so
elegant. If they make it they should call it the Platyfied S84.

Great review, Leah! I had the same problem with my Platy, but solved it a
different way. I SO wanted a tan saddle to match the tan tire sidewalls
and grips so I bought a Selle Anatomica...the “new” style with the lighter
cast aluminum rails. All my other bikes have SA black saddles with
Congratulations Sofiya and welcome! You've got a spectacular bike; what a
beauty. Lucky you! Be sure to write again and give us a ride report and
show us the places you go with your new Platy.

Ray, I recently went through the same problem with my Platypus. After some
research, I bought a set of thumbshifter mounts from Velo Orange which will
work with the silver shifters. Meanwhile, the silver mounts came available
and I was lucky to get them! They went on the bike instead. I'd
What a beautiful bike that is captured so well during the "golden hour."

After reading Leah's comments about upgrading her Clem with lighter wheels
and other parts, I'd like to do the same for my dark green Clem. I use it
for rural road riding when I'm not on my Platy, gravel trails, and hauling
groceries. It's got a rear rack and will have SKS fenders when I get

Emily and Greg, thank you for organizing this ride and for sharing the
