Did we ever figure out the difference of when we use three-dimensional form
vs. tactile three-dimensional form?
I would say that most three-dimensional forms can be touched, so there is a
tactile component to them, as three-dimensional forms.
Of course, for some things, it is clearly not the

I was just reading up this thread and waiting for someone to point that
out. Russia (Federation) and Russia, Federation are both wrong, in
authority 370 in LC/NAF.
This follows the LCPS for 11.3.1 (Do not include the type of
jurisdiction), which can also be applied to 9.8.1.3, 9.9.1.3 and
I think the clearest definition for when tactile is used is found in the note
in the RDA-ONIX Framework document for sensory modes (which include touch as
one of the means by which the content of a resources is intended to be
perceived).

I agree with Thomas' assessment here. And to provide another example, while globes are all three-dimensional and tactile in the sense that one can or may touch them, there are globes out there that are designed to be tactile in nature in that, e.g., the continents are raised in such a way that
Thomas,
So you would not consider either brain to be tactile, because the main

I think in your wording the main intention for the plastic brain model is for
people to “see” how the pieces fit together. And seeing in three-dimensions at
that, which suggests some movement or action on the part of the observer to see
all sides of the object—all of these other actions, such

As far as I am concerned, tactile is only one type of the Sensory Mode
(a.k.a. touch).
The scope of human sensory mode defined in RDA-ONIX Framework needs to be
updated to include signal or stimulus that causes the change of the
intellectual content because of human motion and gesture. An

Aren't all forms both three dimensional and tactile? Whose phrases

For many of the special formats materials that I catalog, there is often

Please could someone let us know what we are supposed to do with the
accompanying material? I am glad I am not the only one with this problem.

You are correct that some color illustrations and illustrations (some
