HI All,
Just wondering if anyone has any of the old style SnapNRack rail and/or the
old style rail splices on the shelf. Please respond off list if so.
Thanks,
Kris

Hi Drake,
I can confirm. The design could be improved.
I’ve noticed that end caps on rails that are flush or a fraction of an inch
shorter than the panel frame lose the end caps at a higher rate than when the
rail sticks past the module frame. My guess is that module movement from

Can confirm. We receive email from customers on the regular that these are
popping off. I haven't attempted to draw a correlation between
Hello All,
We have had a lot of end caps fall off Snapnrack Ultra Rail. Kevin at
S was wondering if this is a common occurrence. Is it something we are
doing, is it freezing and thawing or is it the design of the caps.
Thank you,

You can use a thin sponge soaked anti-seize and just touch the threads to the
sponge. Since it only takes a minute amount of lube to prevent galling, you can
prep all your bolts in the shop and bag them. Zip lock the sponge for the next
job.

The only complaint with the Snapnrack rails is the thin wall can easily be
distorted. This will allow the nut to drop out of its groove. Love the

Hello Wrenches,
How would you rate the SnapNrack mounting systems against Unirac and
other mounting systems?

It is my favorite. My crew said they would mutiny if I changed back to
others we have used. Wire management is simplified due to a large channel,
spacing of L feet can be up to 6 feet on a 12 pitch roof. We have tried
many manufacturers and this is all we have been using for the last three
years.
Hands down my favorite to use. Ditto what Daryl says. Wire management is a
breeze. Stamped engineering for my state makes the AHJ happy. Clean lines.
My only gripe is that the ends of the rails tend to be VERY tight making it
tough to install their universal end-clamp if you are in a precarious
We just serviced an old SnapnRack install, and we found the usual: most
of the mounts had been over torqued and the SS bolts had spalled. With
a bottle of anti-seize and a torque wrench we replaced the damaged
hardware and all went well.
I like the end clamp that grabs the module from
