I wanted to find some words on a card.
That would help to get thru it when life gets so hard.
It seems you can't bear it - perhaps can't go on -
When deep in the heart there's no trace of a song.
Some words that would comfort -
when late in the night the trials return and -
Canning TOMATOES
Tomatoes-Whole,Halved or quartered (in own juice)
2 1/2 to 3 1/2 pounds tomatoes per quart
Bottled lemon juice or citric acid
Salt (optional)
Prepare tomatoes, blanch in boiling water, immerce in cold water,
remove peel, remove seeds. Add 2 tablesppons bottled lemon juice or

14 quarts ripe tomatoes

7 medium-sized onions
14 tablespoons butter
1 stalk celery
3 tablespoons salt
