Pear Tea Cake 2 medium pears 60 gm butter ½ cup castor sugar 1 tspn vanilla essence 1 egg 1¼ cups self-raising flour ½ tspn cinnamon ¼ cup milk 2 tblspn brown sugar Grease 20cm round cake pan, line base with paper Beat butter, sugar, vanilla essence, then add egg and beat Stir in flour, cinnamon and milk (in 2 batches) Arrange pear slices overlapping slightly on top, sprinkle with brown sugar Cook at 180°C (355°F) for 40 minutes
