6 quarts fresh red beets
4 1/2 cups sugar
4 cups cider vinegar ( 5 % acidity)
1 tsp. canning salt (non-iodized salt)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon (optional)

1 lb. ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
2 cups diced celery
1 cup uncooked rice
10.75 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
10.75 oz. can cream of chicken soup
2 cups water
4 T. soy sauce
15 oz. can bean sprouts, undrained
Salt and pepper to taste
10 oz. can chow mein
