Proposed refactoring project

I have proposed this refactoring project on the dev@ mailing list, with some positive and no negative feedback. The problem is that OpenOffice makes extensive use of primitive arrays. They have no option for automatic bounds checking, and we have had some problems due to failure to explicitly
