Hey guys,
Anyone ever run the pacific research ri300 controller? Any thoughts on it,
good, bad?
Thanks,
Jed

I like them, but they are expensive. They used to make a RI-310 which
replaced the factory control boards inside a Vertex VXR-5000 repeater
entirely, the RI-310 controlled the receive and transmitter
oscillators and power which meant you could do some really neat things
with macros.
The RI-300
Clip the purple wire going to the crowbar.
The crowbar in the Astron is one of the most messed up deals ever.
Astron also makes and auto reset kit for the crowbar.
Or better yet, go find a Mastr II 35 amp supply and be done with it.

Jed,
I am using the RI310 controller, which is designed to be a drop-in
controller for the Vertex VXR-5000 repeater. It is very flexible and
capable. Best of all, you can pose any questions about its use to the
designer at the factory, and get sound advice directly from the source.
Gang,
New to MSF-5000's. Great piece of hardware. But more used to working with GE
Mastr II's. Have an MSF-5000 repeater we're trying to get going on VHF. Have
experimented with both the on-board controller stand alone as well as off
board CAT. Several ee-pots to adjust in the software setting

I put up a 5000 about 6 months ago and it works well but you are correct in
that the ctcss deviation is not adjustable separately. Mine runs around 900hz
also with the total with voice set at 4.9khz. Nobody notices a hum though.

Hey guys,
I am in the process of designing a rather large repeater system.
Any thoughts on telewave duplexers?
I've heard a lot of great things about them, but the only thing I have to
compare it with is txrx.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Jed
Hey guys,
I have a project where a customer wants to go all tait.
Here's the million dollar question, what repeater should we get?
What holds up better, the TB7100 or TB8100?
Can someone point out the differences?
I'm a little new to the tait world.
Thanks,
Jed
