Wade, I've found that the power output can be dependent on the operating frequency. For example, my vhf-hi Maratrac mobile runs at 100w above 146 MHz, but on repeater inputs in the 145.xxx range, the power jumps to 120w. Fortunately, I don't need the lower frequencies that much so the radio

Hi Wade, You're correct. Ground the PTT pin to TX. Mic audio would go to the TX audio output on the controller, or else this is gonna be a rally quiet repeater. ;) Brian N4BWP kc0mlt wrote: Am I correct in thinking to ground the PTT connection to get it to key up? Just looking

The short answer, Grady, is no. The Maratrac uses the same oscillator for transmit and receive. To make a one-box repeater like with a Micor or MastrII, you have to be able to separate the TX and RX so that both work at the same time. Just can't be done with a Maratrac. That being said, the

As usual, Batlabs is your friend... http://www.batlabs.com/htpro.html They give functions for all but 2 pins, as well as part numbers for connector kits. I have the RSS for the pro series (older version, but should be ok). If I can determine what pins 19 and 20 do, I'll pass that along.

If I remember rightly, Nate, the keying is via 2 ridges on either side of the locking tab. They allow the connector to only be inserted in the centered position. If you don't need to flash, the 16-pin kit is the deal, and probably cheaper. :) Brian, N4BWP Nate Duehr wrote: Ahhh... it's

The 16-pin connectors work just fine on CDM mobiles. They install on the middle 16 pins, leaving one pair of unonnected pins on each side. I worked for a Moto shop a few years back and we used them frequently. If I remember right, even the Moto documentation states this. He should be fine

Hi Peter, The tone panel's function is to let each group hear their own users, but it doesn't prevent someone from stepping on someone else when the repeater squelch is already open (as it is when a valid user is talking). Most radios have an activity light that will indicate if the channel
