We too have used both a fiberglass StationMaster and DB224 dipole type on a VHF system and have had success with both. However. When we moved to a new site, we had the opportunity to be the lightning rod (on top) of the tower and decided to go for it since we have plenty of spare parts if

Thanks Randy Trouble is I live in a flat area and the only hill at 600 feet, they want $4500 per year, it used to be $100 ! We have a friendly taxi firm with a 60 foot tower and we might be able to get that, but the range on 70cms works out at around 12 miles!! Andy From:
