Hello to group, What is the advantage of an active low COR.  Most I have talked to say they have their controllers set that way, so I set mine that way,plus the Maxtrac I am using as a receiver default is active low. I simulated a power failure to the reciever and the line went low and the

I prefer active high for just the reason that you described. I usually fuse my equipment individually, so a blown fuse in the receiver can cause an active low to be sent to the controller, thereby keying the transmitter. If I do use active low, I put a pull-up resistor in the controller and

If it were me, I'd decline to use it. By the time you replace all the guy wires, strip all the junk off the tower, clean off all the rust and paint it, you've still got an old tower when you're finished. All that expense would go a long way toward a new tower. And that's not even considering

The tower is free, to use. I want to use it for a micro wave hop, the small open screen type dishes. The is a small bow up about 120 feet, can't really tell if it is bent. The only way I know of to tell if the tube is full of rust is drill a small hole in the base and see what comes

Looking at the pictures you have shown, I would not try and reuse the existing tower. It has rust and shows a lack of maintenance by the trees in the guy wires as well as the vines growing up from the base. If the funds were available to get the property and erect a new tower where you could keep

As I said find someone who know metal and engineer or metal worker that has a clue and have then do the testing , it's possible to do dye checks n stuff for the bolts and ask the metal workers advice about rust testing , it really needs a paint job once you are sure it's safe to climb .

I'd cut the trace from the modulator section feeding the PLL so the TX has 0 modulation, Or you can try turning off the PL tone and grounding the mic pin. For keying I would jam PTT to ground, and switch the line that feeds switched B+ to the predriver stage of the PA. You could use just the PTT
