Farm implement dealers have some attractive trucks for S scale. Most
are modern, but I found some gems by Ertl at the local John Deere dealer

Circa 1956 Mack Model B (headlights in fenders)semi with flatbed trailer
and two John Deere 20 Series industrial (yellow) tractors $17.75

Hello RichardI have an interst in the farm animals if you think
they are pretty good in the Realism Department. If so, were they
made by Ertl? Can I buy them directly from Ertl? Or, worst case,
could you perhaps buy them and I'd pay you for them plus postage?
Any chance of a photo? We
Hi All,
Years ago when Yahoo took over the groups from One List, I was learning
about and joining groups as I found them. I joined the Steam Era Freight
Cars list since I am much more of a freight car fan then passenger. It was
there that I witnessed obsessing and regurgitation of minutia like I
Do not forget that we have cattle, horses, and pigs available in S. You do

BillI truly appreciate your philosophy, but what I really wanted
was the rooster, not the cattle. Gotta read Lind's message and my
response more carefully -- no mention of cattle. An S scale rooster,
painted and crowing his red-tipped head off, would be a really neat
thing for my farm

Hi Guys,
No S scale content here. I just need some advice designing a circuit, and I'm
betting at least
one of you can do that. It needs to run for awhile then shut itself off. The
shut off needs to
be adjustable, but I'm guessing something around 10 seconds. My limited

The trucks that Dick Lind is talking about are not made anymore. It has been a
number of years since Ertl made these trucks. If you find some, get them now.
You can often find them on ebay.
The mack B-61 is a nice truck. From a pure scalers view point, the stack is
to big (diameter) and
