I just received an ABA set of FP-7's from American Models. The B unit had coupler pads on either end with predrilled holes for Kadee style couplers. I mounted a pair of SHS short body couplers without problem. However, the A units have talgo mounting and no pads. I don't see how a pad could be

Larry, American Models must have downgraded their AP-7's. I have two from the very first run and they have pads set up for the #5 coupler box, in fact Ron supplied them with the kits. The mounts are on both ends and are part of the zamac frame. Very interesting!! Bob Werre Larry

You might want to look at the mounting bracket that Don Thompson uses on his F3/7 units. Check out his part number 00588. They require a couple of screw holes be drilled in the frame but they come with the short shank coupler already mounted on them. Bill O. [Non-text portions of this
