Also it supports national characters, and converts them to PC format (using
a conversion table).
Also it supports more than Outwrite/Tasword file types (Desktop, Text

incl. styles line bold, underline etc.

Yeah, cunningly called Notepad. It had limited WYSIWYG but it
suffered for it by becoming painfully slow after typing only a few
lines, IIRC. Outwrite is an excellent word processor - I only used

I've just written a program that takes an Outwrite or Tasword file and converts
it to a file that can be loaded into
Windows Word or Notepad, it removes any control codes and trailing spaces, and
puts in a char$ 10 to keep
the formating correct. This might be
