yes it is possible to store your policy on ldap and you can use ldap to
authenticate your users while joining the domain. For the terminal clients
to read the policy we are using a software called Nitrobit group policy. It
does create the necessary base objects with a python script
we are running samba + w2k3/terminal, which is domain member.
the only difference with AD domain is that samba doesn't allow separate
terminal profile settings.

similar setup and use Samba in ADS mode with winbind. This way I don't
have to create new accounts on the fileserver nor have to keep up with

Very strange on my desktop(win2k) I don't get this problem but on other
workstations both win2k and winxp I get this. After logging on to the
