Samba (v3.0.10, on RHRL4) is writing to file 0.0.0.0.log on start-up.
Below is an example of what is logged.
I see (via Google) that others are experiencing this same situation, yet I
can find no explantion of what is causing this.
What is the source of these errors and how to I fix it?
Hello,
maybe its not a 100% Samba related question, but I guess this is the
best place to ask. We are running a couple of WIndows 2003 Server
at several locations. With a Linux client box running kernel 2.6.x
everything works fine, with some older boxes running SuSE 9.0
(Kernel 2.4.21) it
I have struggled for a week trying to get domain users to map and/or
browse Samba shares without entering a password. If I login to the
domain with a WinXP client and try to map or browse a Samba share, I get
prompted for user/pass. If I then login with a local machine account

Hello everybody,
I've setup a file server with Debian GNU/Linux (Sarge) and Samba v3.0.10
with ACL, Kerberos etc... so I can join the Windows 2000 domain. I can
use users from domain on file server without problems and Windows 2000,
XP clients can access Samba shares.
But when I try to connect

p. 252 says /etc/smbldap-tools/smbldap.conf should contain

Is this correct or should they both read the same way - perhaps

hey friends,
I have configured samba with winbind.I have another samba server

data of the users resides on that samba server.
I want that the home directories of the users on the samba

I've got samba-3.0.0-14.3E, and am trying to connect
to a
Windows 2000 domain using security = ADS
After following the instructions in the

kinit working, and am able to browse the Windows 2000
machines shares with
smbclient //win2kmixed/c\$ -k without a password.

those things are pretty regular here:
1) where to put computer accounts ?
2) wtf is going on when re-sharing nfs over samba ?
maybe
1) even have no idea what to do :-) FAQ maybe ?
2) can it be auto-detected by samba that it is NFS ? and complain loudly
in that case ?

Pardon my confusion:
Does this mean the Samba guide is correct? If so why the difference
between p 242 252?
TIA

Hello,
I have a share, to the MS-Office-files there only a special group has write
access, for all others it's readonly.
I set directory mode 775 and file mode 664, force group to the groupname with
write access, set readonly to yes and gave a writelist with my authors
group and all worked

The only thing that is correct is what you have chosen when you got it
all working.
