You said that you are using samba as both the PDC and the BDC. What are you
using for the pass backend and how are you replicating the info?

If you are using samba 3 why not use net time to set your time correctly.
The problem here is that the ntp protocol has many flavors. We used a
product called nettime xntp was able to see this version ok.

Hi
Check your kerberos and nsswitch configs. Id say kerberos cannot contact the

would help us in this area.

Im not a complete expert in this area, but. If you try winbind its got to
have a correctly configured kerberos client to contact the AD. Could you try
this but specify your MIT Kerberos kdc
Can you post your configs, SMB.conf and krb5.conf
thanks

Check it and make sure there is a ³passwd files winbind ³and a ³group files

Also check that your time is synced correctly.

would think not, unless wine is installed and
then it would need a user to be logged in and using some sort of wine based
application.
Remember most viruses must execute in user space.
Best of luck

/usr/sbin/winbindd(strftime+0x132c) [0x8077a0c]
Ive just begun to investigate this problem but as we are in production with
this error I thought Id drop a quick line to the group and see if any one
knows about this error.
Thanks in advance

Network seems ok and transfer rates seem ok with ftp and nfs, it seems to be
only samba.
Is there any benefit in using Wins support, there is a wins box on the net,
same as the ADS server.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
