for security reasons this might not be the best idea. I wouldn't open a
Windows share to the internet if not necessary.
However you might tunnel your traffic e.g. with putty from the Windows
clients to the server and then connect to the Samba-server internally.

as far as I understang JHT in his Samba by example in chapter 5,
computers are treated like users. So what worked with me and SuSE9.3 was:
1. in smb.conf
ldap machine suffix = ou=Users
2. in smbldap.conf
computersdn=ou=Users,${suffix}
