What version of Samba are you running?
If, for some reason, you can't get that going

Create a dword called enableplaintextpassword
Give it a value of 1.
1=on
0=off

I've gotten it to successfully join the 2K PDC via smbpasswd. Winbindd
is running and I can ping it. I've tried googling, but was unsuccessful
at finding something useful. The Windows 2K event viewer shows:

Is it possible to have samba share the drivers for Win9X/2K/XP on a
