We use Active Directory users to login into our GNU/Linux workstations.
If the network is down, is there any way to use a fallback method to
login with the same profile (user, homedir, etc)?
Thank you,
Pau

mean that there's file access permission issues? If so have you set up
acl's? Remeber posix permissions are User, Group, Other. All clients
authenticating via W2K3 are Other
The netbios name is defined as:
l%h
so I don't think it is a problem, but I'll try.

Authentication does work but it does not permission resolution (we use
winbind). Neither smbclient -U domain user.
I don't know the solution yet.
We also use Debian but I'm afraid it is not Debian related because
I've tried to compile Samba and MIT kerberos from source and it keeps
failing.
Hi,
Can anybody tell me if there are problems or there have been
configuration changes in recent versions of samba.
We use Debian Sarge workstations as domain members (with samba,
winbind, pam_mount, pam_mkhomedir, you know...) and recently the
server part does not authenticate users.
If you do
sorry for the spelling error...a last-minute subject change :(
I hope your eyes don't hurt and I receive some kind of response.
Thanks,
