Hi,
I've got a messages.tdb file that's currently 2.5GB in size. Is there a
way to trim it down (and preferably keep it trimmed)? Can I simply
delete it or zero its length by copying /dev/null to it?
I'm need of an answer before I end up with a full file system.

I've started replacing all the various drivers with the PostScript version.
In my case, the issue is now academic, but are there problems with
Samba-3 and PCL print drivers?

Hi,
I'm having a problem with some model of HP printers (specifically 5Ms
and 8100s) not printing landscape when accessed via SAMBA (version
3.0.14a-2). The problem is actually visible in print preview on the
windows box. But have the same computer print to the printer directly
and
it be the netbios name of the server instead of LOCALHOST ?
FWIW, the /etc/samba/drivers dir is writeable by flavien
I'm pretty stuck here now. Any help appreciated.

That is exactly the case. In fact, sometimes you can even see the

Folks,
It turns out that the problem is a Microsoftism since it only happens
with Office documents. It also tiurns out that only if profile acls is
set to 'yes' in smb.conf do you see the problem. Set it to 'no' and no
problem. Wierd eh??

First of all, you might want to check the clock on your workstation
since January 5 was five months ago.
And now, on to your problem. Once SAMBA submits the print job to the
CUPS printer daemon it's quite out of the picture. There is really no
special magic involved. SAMBA simply executes
to CATNET\rtanner.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
