I'm setting up a single SAMBA server that will have different
netbioses names:
netbios aliases SAMBASRV BACKUPSRV
Then I have two shares defined, [assets] and [digital], different
path on both.
Now, when I connect to \\SAMBASRV from my windows machine, I see
both the 'assets'
. Correct?

Hi
I'm having a similar problem. Have you tried checking whether the group is
listed in the local group in computer management? Or can't you get that far
because of user privileges? My problem is that I have to restart the
computer before the second user logs on to get the correct privileges. It's
a user account to use when
accessing this share. That's my advice. The above share definition will
allow guest access (be warned).
Hope this makes sense and helps.

Can someone shed some light on this for me please.
I have a samba PDC with a locally connected HP Deskjet 710c. It is set up to
use the client driver. But when I print anything from a windows workstation
and select multiple copies, only the first copy prints and the rest seem to
disappear.
I have done the same thing and dramatically increased the speed of the
system. Does the system slow down only when you have more than one user
accessing the database? This is a problem I found when trying to upgrade it
to a windows 2000 server.
Anyway if you let me have a look at your smb.conf I
I would advise making sure that both your settings in the ldap database and
the smb.conf are the same. Either that or don't provide them in one or the
other. Also have you given the computer enough time before logging in to
become a member of the network, this can happen with my wireless pcmcia
I've found out what was wrong. I'll just write out how I solved it for
anybody else as stupid as me.
I used the smbldap scripts provided by idealx, and in the smb.conf I had
an add machine script like this:
add machine script = /usr/local/bin/smbldap-useradd.pl -w %u
But this somehow didn't add

Can't really see what the problem is though try using smbldap-useradd.pl
-a -m test instead and see whether it makes a difference. You have played
around with smbldap_conf.pm to suit your needs I'm assuming.
