Hi Ryan
For backward compatability, you want passdb backend = smbpasswd, most
likely. Not that I'm sure that this is even used when password server is
used, but this is the old passdb backend.

it is apparent that it is not just utmp/wtmp not clearing entries
properly. Is there any reason why these connections would remain open, and
anything I can do about them?

I'm running HP-UX 11i, 64-bit. I see no bugs reported on this subject yet.
Thank you for your time, and let me know if I can be of assistance.

Not just HP-UX. Tried this on Linux too. Looks like the command plain old
does not exist.

I do believe there is a parameter in smb.conf that will allow you to
replace the dfree call with a script that will determine the free space.
However, there may be a more elegant solution of which I am unaware.

Just make sure that secrets.tdb comes with you. In fact, take a record of
your current domain SID so that you have something to set it back to in
case of some corrupting factor.

AFAIR, security = server is somewhat frowned upon as compared to security
= ads or domain. I'd check the docs, though, especially for that param.
I'm sure it will be more than obvious.

I would suggest you first look at your logfiles. This should give you SOME
kind of clue. Turn up the log level if need be.
