Thanks everyone for the advice. Here's what helped; 1. Boot from Linux Rescue/Knoppix check partition table integrity with QTParted then run fsck. Reported no obvious faults. 2. Reinstall, testing FC6 media (no errors). Past the mysterious 3% point on install now, and well into disk 2. Not
