IBM embarks on new development technique (CNET)
It's called aspect orientation, and Big Blue plans to make it a part of upcoming commercial releases. Aspect orientation lets programmers easily make changes to complex projects with tools that separate different functions. As a result, developers can change one function and have those updates reflected in other parts of an application.

Companies will be able to buy Red Hat Enterprise v3, among the most popular Linux server software for businesses, with IBM's Power eServer and BladeCenter systems, in addition to its AIX and OS/400 operating systems.

IT pros unhappy at work
"Show me the money?" How about "Show me the happiness!" IT workers may be considered white-collar professionals, and they may cash bigger paychecks than many in the work force, but that doesn't necessarily translate into grins and giggles. In fact, according to a recent "happiness index" developed by a British research firm, only 14% of IT workers are happy on the job. "Vocational workers," including chefs, florists and plumbers,
are much more satisfied. The most miserable bunch, you ask? Journalists.
