LEAD STORY

MOBILE NOTES BRINGS THE DESKTOP TO THE PDA | WirelessNewsFactor

If you have users who are on the go, Mobile Notes tries to replicate
the Notes desktop experience on a PDA or cell phone. Unlike some
competitors, Mobile Notes works on the three major platforms for PDAs
and eliminates the need for handheld users to synchronize with an
alternative PIM application.

STUDY: SPAM A COSTLY NUISANCE | SearchWin2000.com
I think, therefore I'm spammed. A new study shows the tsunami of junk
e-mail is costing U.S. firms billions of dollars. And how are those
firms dealing with it? Many of them aren't doing a spam thing.

DEVELOPERS HAIL JAVA COURT RULING | Computerworld
Some Java proponents hope that the court decision forcing Microsoft
to include the most recent version of Java in Windows will revive
Java development and help Sun in its fight against .NET.

IBM VP: SERVER CONVERGENCE TO CONTINUE | eWEEK
IBM's senior vice president for servers, William Zeitler, shrugs off
the suggestion that Big Blue is moving toward a single server product
line. Zeitler says IBM will continue to push server convergence,
using the same microprocessors in different systems. For instance,
the company plans to introduce iSeries products that have the same
chips as its higher-end Regatta.

THE MISSING LINK | How 'bout them Apples! Jobs' autograph up for bid

Whose autograph is more valuable, the "father of our country" or the
co-father of our Apples? Seems like a no-brainer, but evidently more
of us need to get our brains checked. The signature of Steve Jobs has
been up for sale on e-Bay and is fetching bids of more than $800. By
comparison, George Washington's John Hancock usually goes for $500 to
$1,000. Of course, the premier president didn't ink his name on the
premier issue of Macworld magazine. Jobs did, and that fact has
probably pushed up the bidding for his handiwork. Autograph hounds on
a budget might want to check out Bill Gates. A signed copy of his
book "The Road Ahead" is going for about $25.
