[SGD-Users] How to setup My Desktop
Hi all, the SSGD has the nice My Desktop-feature. It is working well, but i have a litte problem: I don't know how i can setup a special My Desktop for a specific user. I can only setup it for all users. I read in the man pages, it is possible to assign a special My Desktop setup for specific users. But they don't explain it ... How can i do this? Thank you for any help! If you want a specific user to have his/her own My Desktop application, you'll need to create a User Profile for that user and make sure that the user profile does not inherit the Applications group. Then you can assign his/her own My Desktop application to the User Profile. Hope this helps. Thank you - this helps. But i fetch my users from a Windows Domain Controller ... so i have no chance to setup a My Desktop for this users? Again, thank you. Re: [SGD-Users] [SunRay-Users] Remote access to Linux hosts (Kiosk, SmartCard)
Hi all, thank you, for all your answers - i will see, what i will do. But now i have a second question: How can i redirect a Sun Ray to Sun Global Desktop? (Okay, i can setup a kiosk with firefox ... but is there a smart solution? A direct access to a MyDesktop session for example?) Detlev Am 26.05.2009 um 16:43 schrieb Detlev Habicht: Hi all, we have a SunRay Servercluster running Solaris 10 and SRS 4. Our Users must use a smartcard for login. I have installed the srs4_demo_kiosk.zip, the demo package for Sun Ray Server Software from http://mediacast.sun.com/users/mplona. This works fine. I use this package to redirect smartcards to Windows terminal server. We have also some Linux hosts in our network. A normal user have to use the remote login feature from dtlogin to login there. But now i need some smartcards with a redirection to this Linus hosts (we need it for some special students lessons here). With the demo_kiosk package i can also start Solaris applications. So i have to start a program, which will access the Linux host. Okay, it has something to do with Xsun, XDM, X11 and so on. Any idea, how i can do this? Is a tool like rdesktop for X11/XDM out there? Or, in which way a have to start Xsun, when i have only a hostname as information/parameter (for the query option)? Thank you for any help. Well, i solved it after i write the EMail: The directory /opt/tarantella/bin/java/com/sco/tta/cryptix/util/core disappeared. I don't know why. Perhaps my backup software ignores core names. I have to check it. I saved the crashed system, so i found it here. But i am still thinking about such an effect ...
