Kathryn, If mold releases toxins as it is dying why not just air the area out until the mold is dead? Secondly, chlorine dioxide (made from sodium chlorite) is not chlorine. It is several times stronger than chlorine but it breaks down into salt and water basically. -

Thanks for this. I live in Florida and have a funny smell in my apartment when it has been closed up also. Since it is tiled I just figured it was the smell of the concrete coming up through the floors. Perhaps just regular charcoal would work or the charcoal that is used for incense? PT

yeah, I hear that. I read about using ozone in a similar manner to get the mold behind walls, etc. I did that, and found that unless the reservoir of mold was was removed (I did find it, without tearing the whole house apart, it was wet sheetrock behind the shower tile) nothing really worked.
