The dirt is probably silver oxide formed when the CS [eis] drys in
there...sometimes mistaken for black mold.
It won't hurt anything, but it also doesn't hurt to clean it out now and
then and rinse well with DW.

I got a new round toilet brush from a dollar store, and it had a round area
where I was able to cut it.
It then fit in my 1/2 inch drill motor, used it to scrub my Gallon Jar.
Mine had a lot of build up in it, dishwasher was not getting mine clean.

on the inside. Is this ok? Do I need to clean it? I haven't because it
has been said that the silver rods get 'dirty' and that's ok, so I haven't
worried too much about. But I thought I'd ask just to be sure.
