Hi:
Stainless Steel is a term commonly used to indicate any or all rustless steels 
or iron alloys designed to resist atmospheric
corrosion. Some grades are magnetic, some heat treatable,
depending on the alloys added to the base metal, Chromium.
I would think the manufacturer would use a proper grade for cookware. But, who 
knows ?
