Sounds as if the top was stuck in the tape and the whole thing got ripped out - fine - but just incase there are any bits left behind that might work their way to the top in the next year or so, keep the wound clean with your CS/EIS and keep a look out for another funny looking bump down the track. If it does appear, put on a bit more salve. It will probably be tiny and come away very soon. Even so, you might need to warn family members to leave the ear care to you! Congratulations on that nice little success! I hope you have a big cowboy hat to wear out in the sun, though!

My DR found a crusty growth on the top of my ear. I tried to put Black Salve on it but the tape covering it only held on one side of my ear. I left it like that as my wifes family reunion was the next day. My wife saw the tape flapping and pulled it off. There was a hole like someone shot a BB at it. Whatever was there looks like it was gone. I used the salve bought from Quailwood.com who is on this list. I work outside so get a lot of sun on my tree farm.
