Everytime you update an image the tarballs torrents of your images
must be refreshed.
If you want to re-create only one image just delete

beautifully, no error messages, everything's running ok as far as I can tell.

I would check the firewall on your image server to make sure that the
correct port is open. Specifically, the tracker port is defined in your
/etc/systemimager/bittorrent.conf
