But I get BadQueryException: Required element from not supplied
with searchHelper.createSearchQuery (grammarNamespace, queryElement, slideToken,
maxDepth);
This is strange since I have a d:from element.

do you get a stack trace? Is exception thrown in parseQueryWithoutExpression() or
getScope()?
