All,
On some of my targets I have multiple alerts. For instance, I want to
know when packet loss is over 5%, but I also want to know a different
message when packet loss is = 100%. However, 100% loss is also over 5%
so I get two alerts on the one failure. Is there any way to avoid that?
Also,
a clear
status email for items we want to know trigger an alert but we don't
want to know when the pattern no longer matches. This would work well in
the OfflineAtStart alert. Your thoughts?

Gentlemen,
I'd really like it if the remark entry in the config is also included in
the alert email. Think that might be something that could be added in
the next version?

Likewise; VMWare, Ubuntu (both Host and VM), both MRTG SmokePing run just
fine here.

I use and it works great:

binary = /usr/sbin/fping
offset = random

Hello fellow smokers,
I have a question about loss_colors usage. I would like the loss colors to
be different for each probe. For instance, I have an curl probe that has
only 5 pings and an fping probe that does 10. I want to set colors for 1
through 10 (green fade to red) for the fping probe but
I've been using Smokeping for several years now but I just recently

addresses at this site and I'm able to ping and fping them all from
the command line. However Smokeping has trouble pinging one of them -

How about scripting an update to the local hosts file periodically with
your traceroute script with a hostname and the updated IP. Then use that
