Re: [sniffer] Sniffer and SmarterMail?
On this same thread, what can the small guy like me do now that I no longer own my former business. I also cannot afford the Imail/Declude solution. I have about 20 domains I host as more of a hobby, but need to move them off my former mail server soon. I see someone has said that maybe Sniffer could be called directly from SmarterMail. Is there a pretty much Plug and Play setup for anti spam and anti virus that does not use Declude? It is not in my current budget. Nothing needs to be said about Imail's prices... Open Source/free on Windows is my preference. Sheldon This E-Mail came from the Message Sniffer mailing list. Re: [sniffer] Sniffer and SmarterMail?
hMailServer is free and open source. I like it! Once I finish the script work for calling Sniffer and the work-around for ClamDscan and FPROT I'll post it. Clamdscan is the service (daemon) for ClamAV. No reason that the daemon version of Sniffer couldn't be used as well. That would be very cool. Thanks for your work on this! I look forward to testing it out. The SquirrelMail web interface is not bad although it is PHP 4. The web admin interface is pretty good, too, and can be php 5. Does this really matter for us non programmers? I am just about done building the new box, I just have to install Windows Server 2000 on it and patch it up. I plan on testing hMailServer as $49 is in my budget. Sheldon This E-Mail came from the Message Sniffer mailing list. Re: [sniffer] Spam storm?
It's starting to come together now. Wget on windows + errors on the Sprint line since the move = corrupted downloads for folks who end up routing through sprint along the way? Could be. We use Windows 2k, Wget and have our connection at our end from Sprint... Re: [sniffer] Spam storm?
This has been a bad week here! A big increase in total email volume, a huge increase in false positives as well as a huge increase in spam getting past our filters.
