Skegs!
I see it's that time or the year again. Hashing over why we should or
shouldn't use skegs.
My two cents are:
If you want a contest with no skegs, then attend an F3J contest! We
invite the participation

It would appear from feedback that in the last week I've had some email go off into cyberspace somewhere. If you emailed me and did not get a response, please do it again. I miss one myself once and a while but several people have told me that they mailed and I've not seen
Hello all,
Someone mentioned plans out there somewhere to make
glider boxes out of Coroplast. Although I am quite
sure I could manage a box myself, I'd like to make a
NICE one!
Anyone know a website where those plans might
reside???
Any info would be helpful! Thanks!

Fellas,
Just to set the record straight about the NATS and RES Skegs...
RES was a classification sent to the AMA and voted upon by YOUR sailplane RC
Rules committee.
There is one guy per district...
This new RES classification, contained the no skeg rule in it. The supposed
reason was that
The other day I crack the tip near the peg launching in 15-20 mph
winds. I layed the tip on the ground before launching but the wind
was already picking it up before running forward. After running
forward then rotating around it was during the downwind area of the
rotation that it cracked.
Mr..Carr,
The LSF had nothing to do with the AMA rule change, for RES... which is the
only Official AMA event that does not allow skegs.
NO other events are affected by this rule at this time.
YOUR RC Soaring Rules committee, put this rule in place and no one not even
you apparently objected.
Greetings!
In response to my request to action pictures many suggested that I go to
the LSF page. Down at the bottom of the page I found links to the Nats
photos. None of the pictures load for me. Is the site having problems or
is it me (actually my computer)?
Thanks,
Bill

Is there a reason for using coroplast over cardboard?
I researched a local firm that advertises Boxes to Size and for a box
6X12X60 it was only $8.09 in quantity 12. I'm sure if a group got
together, they could come up with some reasonable quantity, and find a
local supplier for same.
Jack and others involved,

I suppose I should weigh in with my opinions for what little they are worth.
I have not been in the competition scene too long - only about 8 years, but
my recollection is that dorking was way more prevalent before the easy
availability of commercial skegs than it is now. Competition planes are

What are the AMA/LSF's goals for NATS? To present an internationally/FAI
recognized National Champion? To have a nationally recognized champion
even though it is not recognized elsewhere? Or is it to simply have
a large flying event at the National AMA facility
Jason,
This very issue has been discussed in the last few months on this
list.
For a short synopsis of the LSF's goals for the NATS, read the

I'm trying to set up a HLG preset on a momentary switch on my 3030. The obvious

Just heading out to the Tulsa field again this morning with George Voss after two days (full days) of soaring. The weather is even better today than the last.
For you guys who haven't been to Tulsa for soaring, the field is on the south east corner of Tulsa, pretty close to motels and resturants

The Uline tape is inferior compared to the 3m tape, I stay away from it.
Tiplets can be attached with
