Boy, the dead horses keep piling up on this one. For the record, the
moment of inertia (I) *does* have mass units. The complete units of I
are: distance x distance x mass, and it's really a tensor in the most
general form. So, angular momentum (I*omega*omega) is a correct term

I just received an email from XModels, and they discontinued the Thermik
Star a year ago, so no more parts. By any chance does anyone have a Thermik
Star they'd like to part with or any parts? TIA!!

Sorry for the extra here...the Thermik Star was sold here in the States
by SR Batteries a few years back as the SR X610. I really need a rudder but
will look at more for spares. Thanks again for the bandwidth.

Check out www.arthobby.com they have a very nice selection in the
$125-$150 range but they are not composit, they are hardwood veneer over
virgin styrofoam, nice kits and not too difficult to build.

If you're interested - I've but these two items on ebay.
Both planes are RTF -minus receiver.
$1200 reserve on the Icon and $650 on the Escape.
Who knows - you might get lucky.

I've always thought the Art Hobby stuff looked nice, but everything they make seems to
have a hand launch airfoil. Not that I'm saying they fly bad on the slope, but it'd
be nice if they made something with an RG-15 or something.

Sorry for the OFF TOPIC post, but my mom forwarded this to me and I read it. This

True, my favorite sloper is my CR Renegade with an RG15 wing, it's
lasted me 8 years and still going without too much damage. You might
look at the 6063 airfoil, I've cut a couple sets of cores for the 6063
and bagged one of them. I'd like to get some templates to cut a RG15
too. I like the
You know James, you were right about one thing. This is off topic and
doesn't belong here. Why not take it to a list that welcomes this sort of
stuff.

Ed,
Honestly, I'm not interested in those other groups. I'm interested in
the people that I relate to -- YOU.
That article is deep. Generally when I get forwarded something like
that, I go oh jeeze, here we go. But I read it and Byrd really puts
things in perspective. And I wanted to share
I thought the Sierra 2.5M had an RG-15?

Does anybody know if frequency modules are still available
Hey, thanks for the post and while off topic I wouldn't have found this
without the heads up.
What is going on is too important to be ignored.
Thanks again.

RG-15 is what my Sierra box says and the wing cross-section looks like it.
Although I haven't flown mine yet, it sure is a nice looking plane for the
money.

Hey Scott,
If your an intermediate to advanced slope pilot then the BirdWorks Zipper
is (imho) probably the best sloper available for under 300 dollars :-)
Only $57.60 usd for the 48 sub-kit or ten bux more for the 60 inch span.
This plane has a wide speed range and is very fast.
Thats what the web page says.

I don't think you could beat the Mini Acacia. At $250 it's a steal.
