Why are my messages sent to this group disappear and never post?
Are the censors at work here?
Perhaps home land security?

John, the Areo Spectra is really BIG Bucks...close to $900. How's about the
Icom IC-R5 Scanner. Seems quite capable for about $190 and PC programmable. Any
idea of the differences in capabilities?

Loren, assume both the JR and Hitech servos are digitals. I've used plenty of
each. Some do hum or buzz a little, others don't. From my experience it's a
matter of individual servos, not brand. The buzz comes with digitals. You get
used to it after awhile.
For value, nothing beats Hitech.
Well said, Steve. It is the discerning modeler who wants the very best, the
most flexible radio, who is atracted to complex 12 channel scale ships. That's
who the 4000 appeals to. Like any high end product, the market is modest and
you won't find support in every small town. It's no different
Another Profi 4000 owner weighing. Just sold my JR TX paperweight with its
incomprehensible and equally inflexible programming, money going to another
4000 I just acquired.
Rest assured if Ernie decides to hang up his soldering iron, someone else will
support this TX, even if it means a 3 week
Hitech usually has them in stock. You might also look for a used one on the
exchange. Blows the socks off EVOs or anything else.

I used the Ritt Dye method, water was quite hot, canopy was cooking for a long
time as I wanted it a smoked effect and it turned out great though not quite as
dark as I wanted. No hint of warping.

I've had nothing but great success with Hitech digitals. My gut feel: something
in the wiring or elsewhere is creating your problems. Were it the servos, you'd
be hearing the same complaints from lots of other fliers.

About the same quality of spray as a Krylon can assuming the paint sprayed is
at the appropriate viscosity. The advantage is you can choose exactly what you
want to spray.
Another option: go to a store that sells paints and supplies to the body shop
trade. They can match any color by scanning
Russ, I have an older Sharon Pro 3.7 meter electric v-tail. Your description of
the v-tail linkage sounds just like mine. Are the v-tail servos in the fuse?

Amen, Mike. I just don't get it. IMHO there is nothing simpler on the face of
this earth than the universal model approach of the Profi 4000. It is the
essence of simplicity and totally intuitive yet is incredibly flexible. Why
does every radio mfgr feel compelled not to offer this mode?

Harley, I've been using one of these disc sanders for about two years and it's an
outstanding tool. Also sold by micromark.com for about $200. They offer a nice
assortment of stick-on grits.
I did find one small problem. The disc bearings were adjusted a bit too tight. When

RJ-45 connectors work great, perfect to quickly connect multi-servo wings.
www.cyberguys.com sells double ended RJ-45 patch cords, just cut them in half. They
also offer RJ-45 Jacks (the female thingy) that can be wired without a punch tool. Buy
both color coded so you don't inadvertently plug
You might want to check out the two cases offered by Multiplex, a bit more expensive
but nicely designed for the hobby. I have the
larger version and it's very handy.

I've assigned the controls of a v-tail, motorized Silent Dream sailplane
in a straight forward manner, with the spoiler operating off the left

Currently I use the landing gear toggle switch on my JR8102 TX and the
associated receiver channel AUX3 to turn on/off the Hacker motor in my
electric sailplane. Rumor has it that it's possible to program the
spring loaded TX trainer/timer switch to do the same thing so the motor
switch is always
