The forecast for New Year's Day looks very
favorable at this time. I guess the storm clouds have been properly chastised
and ordered to get their funk out of southern California for the Rose Parade. We
are lucky to be unintended recipients of the same mandatory good weather.
Therefore I

I presume that the ARF Bird of Time is also ineligible for this contest?
Certainly it requires less building than the Ava.
How do you intend to enforce the building rule, other than arbitrarily
disallowing specific aircraft.

The BOT arf is OK , we expect to see several of them at Wood Crafters in
Muncie next May.
To repeat the WC Qualification rules: built up flying surfaces with or
without glass fuses, no restriction on spars. Molded D-tubes arenot
eligible.

As Bill points out, 2-sided 0.100 1/2oz copper pour will handle
anything a sailplane can throw at it. As a PCB designer however, I find
it very difficult to imagine this same scenario handling 40A for more
than a few seconds though (that is to say...40A applied
instantaneously).
I investigated
Nope...not a rumor. However if it works for you Andrew, that is
fantastic :^)
In your last statement...is not fast charging applying power in itself?
Does not the load, in this case the battery pack plus the series
resistance associated with the charge leads etc not viewed by the
charger as the
That is great Andrew.
For the rest of you who wish to treat your batteries/packs with a little
more respect, follow my advice!
WHY is this like pulling teeth for some folks?

Took my BOT ARF to the field today and got in some good flights. On one
launch, I didn't think my high start chute was going to come down; it was
stuck in a good thermal. Had a great time; clear skies, 50F and light
winds.
Hope some of you other guys were able to get out today!

Simple.
Because it has always worked for me, therefore it's the right way to do
it.

This may have been posted already. Read the release about it's flight. What
a cool test flight profile. I want a ride!

Does anyone remember which airfoil was used on the Fazer? If you've
seen one fly, how would you describe it's performance?
Thanks,
