Well, the OVSS cup is running over with good news this morning. JR has sent me news
of the detail of thier sponsorship of the OVSS. At all weekend contests this season,
that does exclude the Nats, both the high scoring Master and Sportsman flier (total
weekend score) will win a set (2) JR 368 Digital Servos! These servos have become the
premo servo out there today for practically all applications in sailplanes and with JR
support, that is a great prize by itself. But included as well, Jr wants to give
special support to our newer fliers, the Season Champion Sportsman flier will receive
a new JR 9303 radio. The JR 9303 is a 9 channel, 30 model memory, 3 different
aircraft style setups available. Suppose it is easy to say that this should get the
fire lit under the Sportsman Class in it's inaugural year. Also, there will be other
gimme's from JR in the form of shirts, hats, etc. Please do extend thanks to Peter
Goldsmith and John Diniz and the powers to be at JR, they !
are doing soaring a great service in both products and support of soaring.

Also, want to thank Jack Strother for his effort in fund raising with the for sure to
be collectible OVSS Towel, I know Gordy will want one as we all will. Jack had talked
to me about this effort to help defray some of my expenses that I have incurred in the
past. The major one was the OVSS Masters Trophy and a traveling Sportsman Class
trophy will need to be made this year,. In addition this year we will be giving year
end awards to the top five Master Class and the top three Sportsman Class fliers for a
more lasting memory of the experience, it all cost $'s and any help is appreciated.
Jack knows and appreciates what kind of money an individual can invest in this hobby
supporting it, a heartfelt thanks to Jack for his effort.

Remember that we will start the season this next weekend at Cincinnati for the
Memorial/Cicada Open, you can go to www.cincinnatisoaring.org and see both the
schedule and rules for the OVSS courtesy of the work of Steve Siebenaler. Stir up
those Sportsman fliers to get them involved this year, it will be worth their time.
