Brent, It depends on the radio that you're using but you usually do have to trim both radios. One exception that I know of is the Stylus which uses all settings from the master radio. You'll also have to check into the programming for the brand radio that you're using. Easiest way is to plug

The neutrals need to be synchronized. If you can reduce throws on the student box, do it. Some systems can designate the 'channels' allowed to opperate on the trainer TX. At least at first the instructor will be taking off and landing, so the student need only pitch and roll channels.

On Airtronics radios, the trainer cord only allows the slave radio's sticks to operate the airplane - all trim and mixes remain in the master, and cannot be adjusted from the slave. The slave is not turned on.
