I received my first net5501 (own many net4801's)
It booted up at 19200 on the console just fine...
I want to install m0n0wall, so I need to set the console to 9600.
I then typed
set conspeed 9600
reset
Now I can't get to the console any longer.
Using minicom I can't find a matching baud
Sorry, I wasn't more clear...
I have tried many different baud rates in minicom, but the net5501
console does not respond. What I would like to do is reset my
net5501 to a factory state so I can try again. How do I do that?
Possibly since I typed:
set conspeed 9600
instead of
set
Update,
A new net5501 board solved my problem.
This time I typed set ConSpeed=9600
It must have been a fluke...
m0n0wall runs like a champ on the net5501.

Lonnie

I installed the generic-pc-1.231 (FreeBSD 4.11) on the net5501,
replaced every sis with vr to create my new config.xml .
vr0 - untagged LAN

I solved my net5501 VLAN problems (with m0n0wall 1.3B4) by adding a $30

sufficient, with the vr ports as untagged.

The card fits like a glove. You have to remove the 5501 board,
connect the 1000 GT NIC, and then slide
