If they are any other setting then they don't render. I have not tried

Just to correct you here Stephen, Redshift has been able to render other
shaped strands for a long time (18 months at the very least).
It was very picky for a while about having the necessary clean and valid
StrandOrientation and StrandSize attributes and the like, which might have

Hi,
The 'biggest' difference is the ability to save scene files/emdl's
bigger than 2Gb on Windows. That was introduced in SI2014. 2014SP1 and
SP2 were just bug fixing installs.
But the difference is a mix of smaller updates and fixes in all areas of
Softimage.
If you use ICE/rendertree a
in 2014 they added a camera sequencer, crowdfx updates, ice overrides and
some ice syflex stuff. Ability to handle larger data files is useful.
in 2015 they added support for mr 3.12, some great ice stuff like tab
search, pausing evaluation, muting ice trees, and a fast save backup scene
option.
