I'm thinking that a better DX or OpenGL viewport could be used as follows
1.) Create a few generic shaders for wood, metal, skin, organics that
can easily replace the diffuse channel with a texture
2.) Animators could view/animate their animations with better
understanding of the lighting
3.)
Completely agree with Raffaele, it's a bad idea to turn up on a doorstep
and expect a chat or tour. Won't go down well! On the other hand, talented
softimage users are hard to come by and if you email ahead i'm sure quite a
few studios would happily arrange something ahead of time. I guess
I did some checking and I believe Piranha Bar run with Softimage, Max, Vray,
and also some Flame.

Hi Rob,
Although I am not entirely sure about it, but I think the polygon area is a
dependent variable and thus it cannot be set. It depends simply on the
vertex information. Infinite number of polygons can be produced given the
same polygon area, so setting such data uniquely is not possible
Hi Alok,
yes the attribute PolygonArea is read only. I have a list of selected
polygons taken from the polygon index and I would like to scale
them arbitrarily with per polgon values I have set up already like inset
amount extrude length. I am wondering if there is an easier way to
scale

Motion capture combined with particle F/X is hardly a new thing. Am I just
imagining things or have people been doing animations like both of them for
many years?
I just don't think the Quayola work can really be pointed at as being

Hi all,
If I have the same event, like OnBeginOpenScene registered in more than
one plugin, in what order the events are evaluated. For example if plugin_A
has some code for OnBeginSceneOpen and pluin_B has some other code for
the same event, which piece of code will run first ?
As always, any
Now that here is much more new blood in the SI team from game developing
side you would think theres some more focus toward this issue. : )
